It’s a Puzzlement
Set in the early 1860’s Bangkok, the musical masterpiece ‘The King and I’ by composer Richard Rodgers and dramatist Oscar Hammerstein tells the story of Anna Leonowens, a widowed British schoolteacher, who arrives at the Royal Palace to tutor the many wives and children of modernist King Mongkut of Siam (now known as Thailand) in the ways of the West.
